WhatsApp is making its Status section more dynamic with a new enhancement that closely resembles Instagram Stories. This new feature allows users to add a music clip to photos or videos and post it as a WhatsApp Status. This feature is now widely available for both Android and iOS users. Here is a quick guide on how to add music clips to your WhatsApp status.
Adding Music Clips to Your WhatsApp Status
Before you begin, make sure you update the WhatsApp app to the latest version. On your device, open the WhatsApp app, tap on the Updates section, and press the Pencil icon. Alternatively, just tap the Add Status text from the Status section.

From the bottom navigation bar, tap the Photo button. The media picker will prompt you to choose your desired media.

Select the intended photos. You can select multiple files. Once you are done, hit the Right tick button from the bottom right corner.

After selecting an image, a new Music button will appear in the editing options. Click on the Music button.

Search a song in the search box or select from the readily available entries, and tap the Enter key to add the music clip. In case you want to preview the song, just click on the song name.

This status editing screen allows you to edit and trim your music clips. By default, WhatsApp selects the most popular portion of the song. In case you want a different music fragment, use the audio visualizer at the bottom to select the preferred part of the song.

Once the song name appears in a disc around the Music icon, the song is set. Add a caption or select status participants, if desired, and hit the Send button to post your status.

The steps for adding a music clip to a video are the same. As of now, you can only use the WhatsApp app on Android and iOS to add music, not on WhatsApp Web. Since the feature is quite a new inclusion, it won’t be long to get it on WhatsApp Web all well.
With the increasing demand for enhanced social media features, the possibilities of onboarding new features are vast. This new feature, designed to ease the editing of WhatsApp statuses, eliminates the need for hoarding various video editing apps. Moreover, you may not know, but you have more flexibility with amazing features like accessing ChatGPT on WhatsApp itself or even using a WhatsApp account on two different devices.
